PTA Update
Thank you to all of you who have supported our various events this half term and to all of the new parents who have shown an interest in helping out.
New event- BINGO night- 2nd May After the success of the Race Night and Quiz night, there have been a lot of people asking about a bingo night, so get your dabbers at the ready for our first bingo night on 2nd May. As you would expect, there will be other ‘activities’ on the night too!
Fancy Dress Costume Donations We welcome any donations of fancy-dress costumes and accessories that are no longer wanted. If we have enough, we will sell them prior to world book day. Please put them into the PTA box outside the office by 24th February. Last year this event raised over £200. World Book Day- 5th March We are still collecting book donations for our book sale on World Book Day. We are quite short of books suitable for Years 5 and 6, so please have a look around, or maybe ask your friends with older children if they have any old books that they no longer read. Please leave your donations outside the school office. Parent Consultations- 26th and 31st March We aim to sell refreshments at parent consultations, however we rely on volunteers to help bake cakes/ biscuits and also to man the kitchen on the day. If you think you may be able to help, please get in touch with your class rep, who will pass your details on. All remaining books from World Book day will also be sold and you will have the opportunity to sign up for the Family Lotto too. Second hand uniform There is a huge selection of good quality second hand uniform available through the school office at any time. First Aid Course The next first aid course is booked for 27th February. Even if you have a basic knowledge of first aid, it is useful to have a re-cap as techniques and procedures have changed over the years. The price is a minimum donation of £15 per head, to be shared between the school and St John Ambulance. Please hand your money into the office. The aim is to raise enough money to purchase a defibrillator for the school. They cost approximately £1,500-2,000 and the first two events have raised over £200. Thank you Mrs Bouma and Mr Kemp who organised and ran the event in association with St John Ambulance. Should you wish to make a specific, separate donation towards this, please hand it into the office.
Family Lotto- you have to be in it to win it… We still have numbers available to pick. Please contact Jude Paine for further information on brookmansparkfamilylotto@gmail.com
Everyone can do something…. If you can’t spare any time to help the PTA, then there are other very simple ways to help raise money.
Easyfundraising pay a % from your online shopping to a cause of your choice. This all adds up quickly when using it for the likes of booking flights or holidays. In the last 30 days we have raised over £200 and in total we have raised over £4,000 with easyfundrasing (over the last 4 years). If you sign up using the link here, once you have raised £5, the school will get a bonus £5. You can set a preference to give a pop up message any time you shop with a participating retailer- it really is that simple. In total we have approximately 30 active users (such a tiny proportion of the school population). This is something simple that anyone can do including friends, family, grandparents. It all adds up and doesn’t cost a penny. It is nothing more than the click of a mouse….
Many thanks for all of your support so far this term and we hope to see you at the upcoming events.
